One Electrician, Start to Finish
When electrical gets treated as an afterthought on a build or major renovation, it shows. Circuits end up in the wrong places. Panel capacity is undersized for what the homeowner actually needs. And fixing it later costs far more than doing it right the first time.
That’s not how Watts Up Electric operates. Paul gets involved early during planning, not after framing. He’ll review your blueprints, coordinate with your general contractor or architect, and make sure the rough-in is done correctly so there are no surprises at inspection or when you’re ready to move in.
- Electrical design consultation – Paul reviews your plans before work begins, not after a problem surfaces
- Permit pulling and inspection coordination – we handle the paperwork and show up for inspections
- Full rough-in through final trim – one crew, one point of contact, start to finish
- Panel sizing and future-load planning – sized for how you’ll actually use the space, not just minimum code
- Generator and EV charger pre-wiring – plan for it now so you’re not retrofitting it later
- Licensed, insured, and code-compliant – every job, every time

Service Upgrades
Every 200-amp or 400-amp service upgrade from Watts Up Electric comes with a whole-house surge protection device installed at your panel at no extra cost. That’s a $495 value included in your upgrade. The SPD clamps voltage spikes before they reach your appliances, electronics, EV charger, or generator transfer switch. It’s backed by the manufacturer’s connected equipment coverage, and the installation itself is covered by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. If we install it and it ever fails because of our work, we’ll fix it. For as long as you own the home.

FAQs
When should I bring an electrician into a new build or renovation project?
As early as possible, ideally before framing starts. Getting involved at the blueprint stage means Paul can flag potential issues, make sure the panel is sized correctly for your planned loads, and coordinate with your GC so rough-in goes smoothly. Waiting until later almost always costs more.
Can Watts Up Electric work directly with my general contractor or architect?
Yes, and that’s typically how design/build projects work best. Paul is comfortable coordinating directly with your project team, reviewing drawings, and keeping the electrical scope aligned with the rest of the build schedule. Clear communication with everyone on site is part of how he works.
Do you handle permits and inspections for new construction or large renovations?
We pull every permit and coordinate every inspection on the jobs we take on. You won’t need to track that down yourself. Paul is licensed as a Master Electrician in Wisconsin, so the permit is tied to someone who’s actually going to be on the job site.
What if I want to add a generator or EV charger to a home I'm building?
That’s the right time to do it. Pre-wiring during a build is significantly cheaper than retrofitting after the fact. Paul can pre-wire for a whole-home generator, a transfer switch, and one or more EV charging circuits while the walls are still open. No drywall patches, no extra labor.
