Small Jobs Still Deserve to Be Done Right
Some of the most frustrating things in a home are the small stuff. An outlet that’s not where you need it, a light fixture that’s given up, a switch that’s never been in the right place. These aren’t big projects, but they’re the things you run into every single day. The Watts Up Electric crew handles all of it, and we treat the small jobs with the same care we bring to the big ones.
We work on lighting installations, outlet additions, GFCI upgrades, switch relocations, dimmer installs, and more across homes throughout Southeast Wisconsin. Whether you’re in the middle of a remodel or just need one more outlet in your home office, we’ll get it done without making you feel like it’s an inconvenience to ask.
What we take care of:
- Outlet additions and GFCI upgrades
- Light switch installations and relocations
- Ceiling fan and fixture wiring
- Dimmer switches and smart switch installations
It's More Than Just Flipping a Breaker
Outlet and lighting work might look simple, but done wrong it can cause tripped breakers, damaged fixtures, or in serious cases, a fire hazard. GFCI outlets need to be installed and tested properly. Ceiling fans need correctly rated boxes and wiring that can support the load. Dimmers need to be matched to the fixture type to avoid flickering or overheating.
When you hire Watts Up Electric, you’re hiring a licensed Master Electrician-led crew that does this work correctly, every single time. We’ll also point out anything we notice that could become a problem down the road, without pushing you into work you don’t need.
24-Hour Emergency Services Available
Some electrical issues can’t be scheduled for next week. If you’re dealing with a tripped main breaker, a burning smell, sparking outlets, or a complete loss of power, the Watts Up Electric team is available around the clock for emergency service calls across Southeast Wisconsin. We’ll send the same skilled team that handles our standard work, not a rotating on-call stranger.

Switches, Outlets & Fixtures FAQs
Can you add outlets to a room that doesn't have enough?
Yes, that’s one of the most common things we do. We’ll route wiring from an existing circuit or add a new one depending on the load and your panel’s capacity. Paul will explain the best approach during the estimate.
What is a GFCI outlet and do I need one?
GFCI outlets are designed to cut power instantly if they detect a fault and are required by code in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor areas. If your home was built before the 1990s, there’s a good chance some of your outlets aren’t up to current code. It’s an easy fix and a real safety improvement.
Can you install a ceiling fan where there's currently just a light fixture?
Usually, yes. The key is making sure the electrical box in the ceiling is rated for a fan’s weight and movement as a standard light box typically isn’t. We’ll check during the visit and swap in the right box if needed.
Do you handle smart switch and dimmer installation?
Yes. We install smart switches, dimmers, and three-way setups. We’ll make sure the switch is compatible with your fixtures and wired correctly so you don’t run into flickering or connectivity issues down the road.
Is there a minimum job size or service fee for smaller electrical work?
No minimum job size. We’re happy to come out for a single outlet or a single fixture. Call Paul to talk through what you need and we’ll let you know what it looks like.
